Beach Boys Convention

Coconut Grove were invited a perform at the yearly "Beach Boys" convention in London on Saturday 18th September 1993.

"Brian Wilson" of the Beach Boys played his first U. K. solo concert at this convention in 1989.

We also had the honour of several guest artists performing on stage with us. Tony Rivers who was lead vocalist of "Harmony Grass" sang a selection of Beach Boys hits: " Tony performed "Help Me Rhonda" and "You're So Good To Me". Both songs were originally hits for the Beach Boys.

Chris White" who had a top 20 hit with the song, "Spanish Wine" also made a guest appearance and performed, "Sloop John B".

Coconut Grove actually performed the song "Spanish Wine" at the convention, as a surprise for Chris White.

Another artist, "Sean Mc'Creavy", sang the Beach Boy classic song, "Caroline No", originally recorded by the Beach Boys on their classic album, "Pet Sounds". Sean commented on the liner notes of his solo CD, that performing "Caroline No" with Coconut Grove at the convention was one of the high spots of his career.
