The Zombies on stage at Falmouth Pavilions

Colin Blunstone

Lead singer of The Zombies

This photograph was taken at the "Princess Pavilions" in Falmouth on Thursday, February 24 2005. An absolutely brilliant evening.

Colin Blunstone had some success as a solo artist, in 1972 with "Say You Don't Mind " and "I Don't Believe In Miracles", however the biggest hit was "She's Not There" which was a world wide hit for the Zombies in 1964.

Their classic album, Odessey and Oracle was recorded in 1967 and released on the C.B.S. label.

The Zombies are still touring in 2009.

Colin Blunstone also appeared on some of the Alan Parsons Project albums. The track "Old & Wise" from the 1982 album, "Eye in the Sky"is a personal favourite of mine.

Old & Wise - written by Eric Woolfson and Alan Parsons.

As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows approaching me
And to those I left behind
I wanted you to know
You've always shared my deepest thoughts
You follow where I go

And oh when I'm old and wise
Bitter words mean little to me
Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time
When they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine
And the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh when I'm Old and Wise

As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows surrounding me
And to those I leave behind
I want you all to know
You've always Shared my darkest hours
I'll miss you when I go

And oh, when I'm old and wise
Heavy words that tossed and blew me
Like Autumn winds that will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine
As the final curtain falls before my eyes
Oh when I'm Old and Wise

As far as my eyes can see.
